Hoping for rain, farmers had sown cotton, green gram, maize and turmeric. Farmer Chidimilla Bhikshama of Padamatiguda in Narsimhulapet mandal, Mahabubabad district, drilled 11 borewells in his one-acre, 10-gunta plot over the past month and a half, Namaste Telangana reported. He first drilled 5 borewells in June and later 6 more. However, not even a drop of water was obtained from these borewells, according to the report.
