The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) officially announced an annual interest rate of 8.25 percent for the financial year 2025-26. According to TV9 Telugu, the process of crediting interest into subscribers' PF accounts began on July 3. EPFO stated that over Rs 1.44 lakh crore in interest would be credited to more than 34 crore PF accounts. A union minister announced that the crediting would be completed for about 34 crore members by July 15. Reports noted this is the first such exercise since EPFO's system was centralised. Officials said the organisation completed strengthening its database and upgrading its software, and that PF claims up to Rs 5 lakh would be settled automatically. Subscribers can check their PF balance online, officials said.
