Sakshi newspaper reported that bike taxis would become legal from August 1, officially allowing such services. It was stated that bike taxi services could be used by paying Rs.5 per day. Later, on July 23, training committee chairperson Cuts said uniform nationwide rules were needed for bike taxi services. He noted that different states have different rules for the service and that operating bike taxis near borders has been problematic.
